
Severine Chevrel
Collaborative on Global Children's Issues
Severine Chevrel is a senior fellow at the Georgetown University Collaborative on Global Children’s Issues. Her policy and programming work includes family strengthening and alternative care, child protection systems and social service workforce strengthening, case management, and prevention of and response to violence against children.
- Has over 20 years of experience working closely with governments, donor agencies, UN agencies, and nongovernmental organizations across Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and the Caribbean in the field of child protection and care in development, early recovery, and humanitarian settings at country and global levels.
- Served as the former global senior technical advisor with the Children in Adversity team at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), supporting care reform and social services.
- Previously worked with the Better Care Network, Catholic Relief Services, International Rescue Committee, Maestral International, Save the Children, UNICEF, and Watchlist on Children and Armed Conflict.
