Collaborative on Global Children's Issues

Catherine (“Cat”) Kirk is a senior fellow with the Georgetown University Collaborative on Global Children’s Issues, where she contributes to the collaborative’s efforts around centering children in adversity in a changing landscape of foreign assistance and funding. Her areas of expertise include early childhood development; parenting programming; maternal, newborn, and child health; early identification and interventions for children with disabilities; and health systems.

  • Has 15 years of experience in the design, implementation, and evaluation of health, child development, and education programs in Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, Asia, and the United States.
  • Advises governments, multilateral organizations, and non-governmental organizations on children’s health and development.
  • Published 40+ peer-reviewed articles on children’s health and development and health systems with a commitment to advancing research equity, with the majority of publications led by researchers in the communities of study.
  • Served as the former senior technical advisor with the Children in Adversity team at the United States Agency for International Development, supporting early childhood development.
  • Holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Michigan.
