This in-person convening will discuss preliminary findings from the forthcoming report: "A Generation of Progress and a Test of Commitment: U.S. Efforts to Address Child Labor Around the World (1990–2025)."
The event will bring together stakeholders who contributed insights through surveys, key informant interviews, and other consultations conducted during the research process. The report authors, Senior Fellows Marcia Eugenio and Annick Febrey, will present emerging findings on three decades of U.S. engagement to address child labor and forced labor globally, including lessons learned and ongoing challenges. Senior Fellow Bama Athreya will facilitate a discussion on the report’s findings and implications for future action. As part of that conversation, Maro Guerrero, regional director at DyA - South America, will also share reflections on the impact of the cancellation of child labor projects and ongoing efforts to continue supporting affected local communities.
The meeting will also feature:
- Reflections on the development of a new interactive historical timeline on international child labor; and
- Curated resources added to the collaborative’s Children and Youth Resource Hub.
The discussion will provide an opportunity to reflect on key themes, validate preliminary observations, and exchange perspectives on future policy, programming, research, and advocacy priorities.
