Barbra Aber is a community development specialist, social worker, training facilitator, and child rights advocate with over 10 years of experience. Aber currently works as the regional technical advisor for family strengthening with Catholic Relief Services (CRS), supporting programming in Eastern and Southern Africa. Bringing practice-based experience to policy driven interventions in the social protection sector, she has led and supported family strengthening and alternative care-related projects and care reform agendas in Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Zanzibar. Currently pursuing graduate work in human rights, Aber has a bachelor’s degree in social work and community development. Aber is a member of the Collaborative Design Team for Faith and the Family, a forum convened by Georgetown University’s Collaborative on Global Children’s Issues and Catholic Relief Services.
