Achaleke Christian Leke
Collaborative on Global Children's Issues
Achaleke Christian Leke is a Cameroonian community and international development expert with 16 years of experience in children and youth in peacebuilding and preventing violent extremism.
He is the executive director of Local Youth Corner Cameroon and a 2024-2025 collaborative fellow with the Georgetown University Collaborative on Global Children's Issues. He holds an M.Sc. in conflict, security, and development from the University of Birmingham.
- Served as the African Union's ambassador for peace and security for Central Africa.
- Member of the Youth Advisory Committee for the Dallaire Institute’s Knowledge for Prevention Programme.
- Implemented over 600 peacebuilding initiatives globally, focusing on preventing the recruitment and use of children and youth in conflicts and promoting their participation in peacebuilding.
- Gained national and international recognition, including the 2018 Luxembourg Peace Prize and being named Commonwealth Young Person of the Year in 2016.
